We offer a space for co-created futures ecologies: futures that entangle humans, nature and technologies.
In this time of polycrises, imagining hopeful worlds is an act of courage. It is also necessary work. If we can’t imagine a better world, how can we build it? wondermash’ believes that the only way to build better worlds, is to collaborate with nature. To understand humans as a key species in the ecosystems we reside in, technology as a multi-species tool and plants, animals, fungi, rivers and rocks as partners, not resources.
We need scenario’s with wings and roots to co-create a flourishing future for all Earth bound species and entities.
Meet the Founder
Marjolein Pijnappels is founder of wondermash. As a futures ecologist she collaborates with nature, organisations, researchers and artists to co-create strategies and scenario’s for organisations and businesses.
She studied marine ecology off the coast of Makassar, Indonesia, worked in climate change communications and has become in expert in her field, combining ecology, speculative design, science and art to help businesses transition to a regenerative organisation.
As a Next Nature Fellow, certified facilitator and developer of the Futures Ecologies method recognised in the Futures Manual by Rijksbouwmeester, she believes the only possible future for humanity is one where we collaborate with nature. She co-founded Speculative Futures Maastricht and her multispecies scifi is published by Routledge, Lecturis and Stichting Toekomstbeeld der Techniek.
